What you need to know before claiming your business page.
What does it cost?
Claiming your page is free and stays free: respond to reviews, update your details, submit certifications, request corrections to your record. Paid tools for analytics and visibility will come later.
What if my score is low?
Then it shows where you stand today, and it moves as your practices do. You can tell your story and show the work on your profile. A modest score with visible effort reads better than no information at all.
Can I pay to improve my score or display sponsored content?
You cannot buy scores, rankings, or leaves, and claiming your page changes nothing about the rating. Sponsorship will be announced when available. Sponsorship opportunities will include being featured on the main discovery page and an elevated appearance in search results. Elevation will occur by softening Jade’s distance-based filtering, but only within a business’s leaf score bracket, e.g. a sponsored 4.6 can sit atop its 4.6 peers, never above a 4.7. The only way up is a higher leaf score.
Do I need a certification to score well?
No, certifications never affect the score, which only comes from what the community observes via reviews. A registry-confirmed certification on your profile simply gives reviewers the opportunity to be better informed. Which means a neighborhood shop doing real work can outscore a chain with a big marketing budget.
What do I get by claiming my page?
You get to show your story and practices to people who spend by their values. You’re able to respond to reviews, submit certifications, and request corrections to your record on Jade. And you get found by new customers when Jade ranks search results by their leaf scores.
Can I pay to get verified?
No, a certification shown on your profile just means the issuing registry or government program confirms it. It does not mean Jade inspected or endorsed your business. Jade never audits and never sells verification.
When does this start?
Jade is iPhone-first, launching Fall 2026. Profile claiming opens where there’s strong interest. Jade Business will reach out when your area opens.
Methodology
How leaf ratings work
Go behind the scenes on Jade’s integrity-based scoring system.
Leaves are human judgment. A leaf score represents the gathered sentiment of Jade members who’ve observed how a business operates.
Firsthand observations. Ratings start with people who’ve actually interacted with your business, reporting what they saw, e.g. packaging, sourcing, waste, energy, etc.
The record is not the score. Registry-verified certifications and government enforcement records, refreshed regularly. With every item linked to its original source. The record informs users, but no certification, database or news story affects the leaf score directly.
No pay-to-play, ever. Claiming a page changes nothing about the rating. Businesses cannot buy scores, rankings, or leaves. Sponsored content, once available, will only soften Jade’s distance-based filtering within your score bracket: a sponsored 4.6 can sit atop its 4.6 peers, never above a 4.7. The only way up is a higher leaf score.
Scores are dynamic. They can be maintained, improved, or left to deteriorate over time. Every new review moves the score.
